Introducing Our Open Beta Phase

After an extensive closed alpha period filled with invaluable feedback and continuous improvements, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Open Beta for our DCS server hosting platform. This phase brings a suite of new features and enhancements designed to make your DCS server hosting experience smoother, more powerful, and more user-friendly than ever before.

As we welcome a wider audience, we invite you to explore these new capabilities and share your feedback. During the beta phase, we still won’t charge for anything. Right now, you can create a DCS server for up to 20 players. Just head to our Control Panel and create one. Also, join our Discord Server to connect with the community, get help, share feedback, and stay updated.

We’ve also expanded the available servers during beta, giving you more flexibility and allowing for longer-running instances than before.

What’s New in the Open Beta

1. Beta Billing with Free Top-Ups

We’re introducing a new billing system as part of the beta. Every user now has an account balance that can be topped up for free, up to a maximum total of 10 EUR during the beta period. You can add funds as often as you like, as long as your total balance does not exceed the cap. This system lays the foundation for future platform features while giving everyone more flexibility when creating and running servers.

2. Full DCS Server Settings Support with an Intuitive Interface

We’re excited to introduce full support for DCS Server Settings within our platform. Our new interface makes configuring your server settings easier than ever. Adjust every server parameter with clarity and simplicity, without diving into more complex subviews in the standard WebGUI. Whether you’re setting up mission parameters, gameplay options, or security settings, our intuitive design ensures you have full control at your fingertips.

3. Advanced Player Management

Our revamped player management system offers significantly improved usability compared to the standard DCS WebGUI. Easily monitor player activity, manage bans and kicks, and enforce server rules from a single, user-friendly interface. With planned additions like player statistics and activity logs, maintaining your server’s community will be even easier.

4. Persistent DCS Chat Logs

Introducing a feature not available in the standard DCS WebGUI: Persistent Chat Logs. All chat messages on your server are now saved, even after restarts. This allows admins to audit conversations days or weeks later, ensuring a safe and respectful community environment. It’s an invaluable tool for moderating your server and addressing any issues that may arise.

5. Enhanced Mod Configuration in the Control Panel

We made managing your mods even more straightforward. With improved configuration options in the Control Panel, you can customize mods like Olympus 2.0 or SRS with ease. All newly deployed servers can use Olympus 2.0 during creation, and our interface allows you to adjust mod-specific settings directly from the Control Panel, streamlining the process and saving you time. No more manual edits or external tools—everything is integrated into one seamless experience.

6. Expanded Metrics and Resource Usage Monitoring

Stay informed about your server’s performance with our improved monitoring tools. In addition to detailed metrics on RAM and CPU usage, including the percentage utilization of each individual core, we now also track and display Player Count and Server FPS in the Statistics tab. These metrics are logged historically, making it easier to review server behavior and performance over time.

7. Refreshed Control Panel Design

The Control Panel has received a visual refresh to make the overall experience clearer, cleaner, and easier to navigate. This redesign improves usability across the platform and makes common tasks more straightforward.

8. Faster Server Creation Performance

We’ve optimized our server creation process even further. Launching a new DCS server is now quicker than ever, getting you and your friends into the action with minimal waiting time. Experience setup times faster than ever before, so you spend less time waiting and more time flying.

A Note for Developers

As we mentioned in our alpha release post, we’re going to offer a complete REST API for our platform. We’ve now decided that it’s best to postpone the full release until the beta is over. The main reason is that we’re still adding and changing endpoints too frequently. If you want access now, get in touch with us on Discord.

In addition, we’re preparing to release API clients (SDKs) for JavaScript (TypeScript) and Rust. You can already access the code on our GitHub. This means you can integrate our platform into your applications more seamlessly, with ready-to-use clients that simplify the development process. We chose these languages first because our backend is written in Rust and our frontend in TypeScript. We’ll be using these SDKs ourselves to build our platform, so you can trust that they’ll be well-maintained and up to date.

  • JavaScript (TypeScript) SDK: Perfect for web developers looking to integrate server management into their applications or tools. The first release will target Node 20+ on npm, with Deno 2 support following on JSR.
  • Rust SDK: Ideal for developers looking to build high-performance applications or tools, the Rust SDK will provide a robust and efficient way to interact with our platform.

Join the Open Beta Today

We’re eager to have you try out these new features and tell us what you think. Your feedback is crucial as we continue to refine and enhance the platform.

To get started, sign up on our website and join our Discord Server for support and community interaction.

Looking Ahead

This open beta marks a significant step forward, but it’s just the beginning. We’re committed to ongoing development and have many more features planned for the future, including:

  • Additional Mod Support: We’re working on adding one-click installation for even more mods based on your requests.
  • Further Performance Optimizations: We’re always seeking ways to make our platform faster and more efficient.
  • Expanded SDK Support: Beyond JavaScript and Rust, we’re exploring SDKs for other programming languages to cater to a wider range of developers.

Thank You

We want to express our gratitude to all the alpha testers whose feedback has been instrumental in shaping the platform. Your insights have helped us build a service that truly meets the needs of the DCS community.

We’re excited to embark on this next phase with all of you. Together, let’s take DCS server hosting to new heights!
