Introducing the new NimbusPulse Mod Manager

Install, remove, and configure DCS server mods from the NimbusPulse Control Panel fully automated, without manual file work.
TL;DR
With the new NimbusPulse Mod Manager, we now offer the easiest and fastest way to install, manage, and update mods for your DCS server. Like before, this is, and always will be, 100% free and included in every server plan.
How it works
The new Mod Manager is very simple by design, we’ve abstracted the installation for every supported mod into a single, easy-to-use interface. Many mods install differently, take time to upload, and require know-how to configure.
The first time you’ll interact with the Mod Manager, is right when you’re creating your server. The last step is always what mods you want to be installed on your server.
After you’ve installed your server with the mods, you can manage them in the mods page in the Control Panel. There, you can change settings like the password for Olympus or frequencies for SRS.
When your requirements change or you just want to try out a new mod with your squadron, you can easily install/uninstall any mod at any time on the Infrastructure page. This will change the port configuration, add a sane default config for each mod, and install within seconds, fully automated.
What happens in the background?
When installing a mod through the NimbusPulse Mod Manager, the Control Panel handles the full setup for you. The mod is downloaded from our global mod network, installed into the correct location on your DCS server, and configured with sensible defaults.
If a mod requires network access, we automatically open and forward the required ports for that specific mod. For mods that support integrations with each other - such as SRS and LotATC - the Mod Manager also configures the required connection details so they can communicate with each other.
The goal is that you can enable advanced DCS server features without having to spend time reading through documentation, giving you more time to focus on what matters most - your squadron, community, or your mission.
Supported mods
The new Mod Manager was designed with one key goal in mind: rapid mod support. We support a wide range of mods, and with this new Mod Manager, we have a very fast pipeline for adding new mods and updating existing ones. You benefit from this with a wide range of mods and a simple, automated install process.
Currently we support the following mods:
- SRS: Real-time voice communication
- SRS External Audio: External audio integration for SRS
- Tacview: Flight telemetry recording and debriefing
- Olympus: Real-time mission control and battlefield tools
- LotATC: Air traffic control and radar coordination
- WebConsole: Browser-based server administration
- Enhanced Metrics: NimbusPulse statistics dashboard integration with server FPS and historical data
- A-4E-C: Community A-4E-C aircraft module
- Bronco OV-10A: Community OV-10A Bronco aircraft module
- Real Weather: Live weather injection for missions
If you have a mod that is not listed here, you can still install it manually, or request it on our Discord to be added to the list.
Built for automation
The Mod Manager is fully integrated into the public NimbusPulse API. If you manage servers through your own tooling, community dashboards, or automated deployment workflows, you can query, install, and manage supported mods without using the Control Panel manually.
You can find the full API reference in our docs: NimbusPulse Mods API.
Discord bot support
Our Discord bot is built entirely on the same public NimbusPulse API, so it also benefits from the new Mod Manager.
For example, when SRS is installed on a server, the bot can show the correct SRS connection details directly in its server management modal. This makes it easier for squadron members to find the right connection information without opening the Control Panel.
Why do we need a Mod Manager?
The initial Mod Manager was made during the alpha stage of NimbusPulse. It was a good solution for the time, but it was missing key features, like install/uninstall after server creation. Adding completely new mods and updating existing ones was a very manual process and required a lot of effort. This is now the best solution for installing and managing your DCS mods on any server hosting provider. We’re very proud of this new Mod Manager and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
With the new Mod Manager, DCS server mods become easier to install, easier to change, and easier to automate. Whether you manage your server through the Control Panel, Discord, or the public API, NimbusPulse now handles the heavy lifting behind the scenes.
